CETC Resources

The California Educational Technology Collaborative (CETC) offers an array of technology services, tools and resources. Most are free to administrators, faculty and staff of the California Community Colleges (CCC).

Welcome RCC Faculty! This web page is designed to provide you with the latest information about Open Campus' Faculty services. In addition to providing Training & Support for our Distance Education Instructors, we offer a variety of workshops - ranging from Microsoft Office components to anti-plagiarism software. Open Campus also conducts monthly one-day Hybrid Academies to orient instructors interested in offering online-related courses with the mechanics of teaching in the distance education environment.

We're constantly adding new information and services to this section of our website, so check back often & stay current with Open Campus!

Blackboard/WebCT Training

Open Campus will be offering face-to-face training workshops on all three campuses throughout the the year. Information on workshops & training will be made available via the District email. Please contact Mary Parker at 951-222-8092 or through the District email if you would like to make an appointment or would like further information on upcoming workshops.

If you prefer to learn CE6 via Open Campus online tutorials, you are in luck! There are many available here, on the WebCT CE 6 Tutorials page. There are also two pdf CE 6 manuals available. The CE6 instructor/Designer Upgrade Guide (412 KB) and the CE6 Instructor/Designer Reference (2.1 MB).

Hybrid Academy

New instructors who plan to teach in any mode using WebCT (online, hybrid or web-enhanced) must attend a one-day Hybrid Academy. These 9-4:30 sessions are conducted on the Riverside campus in MLK-222.

Reservations are required. We have upcoming Hybrid Academies scheduled for:
2008 Dates: 10/17 (Norco), 11/21 (Moreno Valley), 12/12 (Riverside)

CE 6 Preparation Schedules

To better utilize limited resources, provide more effective support and help streamline the current CE 6 course preparation process, Open Campus has developed a timeline. The Open Campus CE6 Preparation Schedules for 09 Winter and 09 Spring include:

Dates which communications will be sent to your RCC issued email addresses only.
Direct links to the Development Class (course development environment), Class combination (more than one section combined) and E-pack (CE6 publisher content) notification forms.
Development Class, Class combination and E-pack notification form submittal deadlines.
Class transfer/rollover Dates.
Development class access and Live (production environment) course creation.
