CETC Resources

The California Educational Technology Collaborative (CETC) offers an array of technology services, tools and resources. Most are free to administrators, faculty and staff of the California Community Colleges (CCC).

Welcome to the Open Campus Faculty Resource Page!

Welcome RCC Faculty! This web page is designed to provide you with the latest information about Open Campus' Faculty services. In addition to providing Training & Support for our Distance Education Instructors, we offer a variety of workshops - ranging from Microsoft Office components to anti-plagiarism software. Open Campus also conducts monthly one-day Hybrid Academies to orient instructors interested in offering online-related courses with the mechanics of teaching in the distance education environment.

We're constantly adding new information and services to this section of our website, so check back often & stay current with Open Campus!

Blackboard/WebCT Training

Open Campus will be offering face-to-face training workshops on all three campuses throughout the the year. Information on workshops & training will be made available via the District email. Please contact Mary Parker at 951-222-8092 or through the District email if you would like to make an appointment or would like further information on upcoming workshops.

If you prefer to learn CE6 via Open Campus online tutorials, you are in luck! There are many available here, on the WebCT CE 6 Tutorials page. There are also two pdf CE 6 manuals available. The CE6 instructor/Designer Upgrade Guide (412 KB) and the CE6 Instructor/Designer Reference (2.1 MB).

Hybrid Academy

New instructors who plan to teach in any mode using WebCT (online, hybrid or web-enhanced) must attend a one-day Hybrid Academy. These 9-4:30 sessions are conducted on the Riverside campus in MLK-222.

Reservations are required. We have upcoming Hybrid Academies scheduled for:
2008 Dates: 6/13, 7/17, 8/13, 9/19, 10/17, 11/14, 12/12

Training at the Faculty Innovation Center

MLK-222 at the Riverside Campus is RCC's Faculty Innovation Center (FIC). This computer lab is open to all staff & faculty members. All of the FIC computers have the latest versions of Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and Macromedia Studio. Additionally, we offer a variety of workshops & personalized training on many of the latest software titles. If you need help with any software/program, call 222-8092 and we'll schedule an appointment that is convenient to your schedule.

The Faculty Innovation Center has 20 computers (Mac & PC) available for your use. Our Summer 2007 hours are Monday-Thursday, 9:30 am-5:30pm.

REMEMBER: Open Campus wants you to succeed! It is our mission to promote the best in pedagogy, especially as it applies to distance education & technology. Please let us know if you have an idea for a workshop, or require specialized training.
