Please read through the information on this page before attempting to contact us. We have provided easy to follow solutions to the most common support issues.

Late Adds

If you have recently added a course, there can be up to a 3 day "lag" time before you will be able to log into that course.  Please note that if the add occurs at the end of the work week AND near the end of our business day, the earliest that you will be added is the following Monday.  Be sure to check our hours of operation listed near the bottom of this page. Common Issues

 

Browser settings:
You will need to apply the REQUIRED BROWSER SETTINGS to your system. If you do not, you may experience difficulties in accessing your course or contents within. The behavior of your browser is unpredictable if you do not make the REQUIRED BROWSER SETTINGS to your system.

 

Do you have the correct version of Java Installed?

If Java is working, you will see a pink box above with one line of text that says something like:

Java Version 1.6.0_03 from Sun Microsystems Inc.

Make sure that your Java Version is 1.5.0_10 or higher. Instructions for installing and configuring Java can be found in our REQUIRED BROWSER SETTINGS help section.

Firewalls:
If you are trying to access your WebCT class from behind a firewall, you will need to contact your network administrator to allow access to the WebCT ports.

 

"Pop-Up Blockers":
Visit the WebCT Sample Class and follow the instructions to test for a 'Pop-up Blocker'. These applications work in the background while you browse the internet. When they detect a pop-up window that may be an unwanted advertisement, they automatically close the window. Unfortunately, they also inhibit WebCT from performing properly. If you are unable to view Discussion postings, Quiz windows, and download links, then DISABLE any anti "pop-up" software installed on your system.

If you're having trouble with WebCT, log into the WebCT Sample Class for additional help. The sample class contains WebCT-specific FAQ's, Tutorials, and other resources that can help you.

To log into the sample class, use WebCT ID: sample and Password: sample
