How To Set Internet Explorer, Firefox And Chrome To Allow
Viewing Insecure Content in Blackboard

Having difficulty viewing media items within your course?
First, check Blackboard's browser & system requirements.
Navigate to the page in your Blackboard class and make the adjustment for your browser listed below.

Internet Explorer 10:

  1. At the bottom of the page, the "Only Secure Content…" message is displayed.
    Click "Show all content".

  2. When the dialogue box appears, select "Leave this page".

  3. The page will reload and the media items will appear.

Firefox:

  1. Click the shield in the top left of the address bar.
  2. Click the drop down arrow next to "Keep Blocking".
  3. Select "Disable Protection on This Page".

  4. When the prompt appears asking for confirmation click "Leave Page".

  5. The page will reload and the media items will appear.

Chrome:

  1. Click the shield icon at the top right of the browser address bar.
  2. Click "Load unsafe script".

  3. When the page confirmation appears, click "Reload this Page".

  4. The page will reload and the media items will appear.

Safari:

Safari browser has different security settings, the embedded content should load without any issues.
If you do experience issue, simply refreshing the webpage will make the embedded video reload so that you can play it successfully.

  1. If the embedded video loads slowly then stops or freezes, please click on the Browser's Refresh or Reload the browser webpage/screen.
  2. If the embedded video loads slowly then stops or freezes, please click on the Blackboard Course's Refresh or Reload inside Blackboard webpage/screen.
